Siemens LOGO! 8.4 Logic Modules are space-saving basic interfaces for connecting expansion modules. The modules connect up to 24 digital inputs, 20 digital outputs, 8 analog inputs, and 8 analog outputs. The LOGO! 8.4 series features an integrated display field with a parameterizable backlight, operator control panel, and EEPROM memory for control programming and setpoint values. The logic modules utilize an Ethernet interface for communication with LOGO! 8, LOGO! TDE, SIMATIC controllers, and SIMATIC panels and PCs. The basic logic modules provide an integrated web server for TD-based web pages or user-defined web pages. The Siemens LOGO! 8.4 Logic Modules perform various basic logic and special functions, including pulse edge evaluation, timer, counter, and analog function blocks.

The LOGO! 8.4 is offered with preconfigured cloud connectivity and open MQTT communication. Users can activate and configure a cloud connection with LOGO!. Through live access, the cloud provides access to the collected data during ongoing operations. LOGO! 8.4 can also be used as a cloud gateway for existing systems. This means you can, for example, export data to the cloud for which the memory in the controller is limited. The dashboard for the cloud data is created with LOGO! Web Editor and can be hosted directly in the cloud. The web app created can be opened with a smartphone, tablet or PC. The encrypted connection from the cloud to LOGO! 8.4 via TLS protocol ensures secure transfer of data in both directions.

The cloud connectivity of LOGO! Soft Comfort engineering software opens up the world of IoT in a simple way. The LOGO! Soft Comfort engineering software offers not only familiar operation in single mode but also easy operation in network mode. Automatic communication configuration is displayed in the network view, the ability to open as many as three programs at once, and the use of drag and drop to transfer signals from one program to another. A wizard helps to set up a cloud connection in LOGO! Soft Comfort in just a few steps.
