Empowering Innovation in 2015
Wearables and the Internet of Things (IoT) were hot topics at the beginning of 2014, and they are this year as
well, judging by the number of products coming to market. But with the rise of portable, mobile, and ubiquitous
communication, so does the concern with Security. As such, we chose to focus on these three topics looking
forward into 2015. After all, 2015 is only one year, which is an eternity when one considers how fast technology
is progressing.
- Stephen Evanczuk looks beyond how IoT has captured the attention and imagination of the
industry. The Internet of Things will gradually evolve into a richly layered “hypersystem” driven by IoT
endpoints and hubs based on specialized processors.
- Warren Miller discusses how device level security will fundamentally drive information security
in connected devices as security breaches in 2014 brought the vulnerabilities of personal data to our
attention.
- Stephen Evanczuk also investigates how Wearables will rush into the mainstream, requiring
ready-made development platforms able to speed time-to-market of new wearable products.
