The TVS, MOV, and ESD products provide precise voltage clamping capability and constrain the voltage to a permissible level to prevent circuit damage by conducting significant current to ground. The GDT, SPG, and TSS products work as a switch that can be turned on to conduct transient abnormal current to ground. The PPTC and NTC resistors feature resistance dependent on temperature and can be changed along with temperature to protect circuits.
