1206L POLY-FUSE® Resettable PTCs

Littelfuse 1206L POLY-FUSE® Resettable PTCs provide surface mount overcurrent protection for applications requiring resettable protection in a compact space. Littelfuse 1206L PTCs provide a fast response to fault components and offer a 10A to 100A current rating with 0.05A to 2A hold current and 0.15A to 3.5A trip current ranges. The series is ideal for use in USB peripherals, disk drives, mobile phones, and more.

Low Resistance Resettable PTCs

Littelfuse Low Resistance Resettable PPTCs offer ultra-low normal operating resistance while maintaining the same performance of other Littelfuse PPTC products. The low resistance devices offer a 0.1A to 6A maximum current range, a 5V to 12V maximum voltage range, and overcurrent and over-temperature protections for various applications. The low-resistance resettable PPTCs are available in the Surface Mount Low Rho SMD Series, the Surface Mount LoRho Series, and the Battery Strap SL Series. The components are halogen-free, lead-free, and RoHS Compliant.

Package size varies from 0402 to 3425, while the current hold ranges from 50mA to 7.0A. The Littelfuse PolySwitch SMD product family is qualified to strict automotive standards (following the AECQ200 specification). As a result, these PTCs are suitable for protecting Electronic Control Units (ECUs) against damage from faults that would otherwise require costly, complete module replacement.

PolySwitch Resettable Devices

Littelfuse PolySwitch and POLY-FUSE Devices are Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) devices that offer a resettable overcurrent protection alternative, reducing warranty, service, and repair costs. PTCs increase resistance as temperature increases due to increased flow. The components are designed to limit unsafe currents while allowing constant safe current levels, resistance will "reset" automatically when the fault is removed, and temperature returns to safe levels. The ability of the PTCs to reset themselves after exposure to a fault current makes them ideal within circuits that are not easily accessible. PTCs are typically used as circuit protection in applications where sensitive components are at constant risk of damage from overcurrent conditions. The components are also ideal for situations where frequent overcurrent conditions occur or constant uptime is required. Littelfuse Resettable PTCs (PPTCs) are typically used in consumer electronics, power line, telecom, I/O port, process control and medical equipment protection applications.
