Kemet Commercial Tantalum Surface Mount Capacitors

Kemet is announcing the removal of the 'S' part number
Suffix as an ordering option for series T49X, T510, T520,
and T530. All orders must designate either 'T' suffix for
100% tin or 'H' suffix for tin-lead.

Continued use of the 'S' termination provided convenience
during the transition to lead-free processing throughout
the industry. Well beyond the July 2006 RoHS deadline,
much of the transition has been completed.

Last time purchases with the 'S' suffix will be accepted
through July 15, 2007.

MLCC Replacement Solutions

KEMET KOCAP Tantalum Polymer Capacitors are ideal for board space savings, a piezo noise-free environment, high capacitance, long stable life performance, and/or lower profile requirements. Tantalum polymer capacitors are selected over other capacitor technologies when application voltages are less than 50V, capacitance needs are between 1µF to 1mF, and application frequencies are below 1MHz. Since replacing ceramic capacitors with tantalum polymer capacitors is not typically one-for-one, designers need to consider several design requirements as outlined in the schematic below.
