X Capacitors are for use in positions where a failure of the capacitor would not expose anybody to the danger of electric shock. Y Capacitors are for use in positions where a failure of the capacitor could expose somebody to a dangerous electric shock.

PHE840E, PHE840M Suppression Film Capacitors

KEMET PHE840E and PHE840M Suppression Film Capacitors are Class X2 EMI suppressors that offer small dimensions that include low-profile capacitors. The PHE840E series from KEMET features a new improved design with a capacitance range of 0.01µF to 10µF, a rated voltage of 300V_AC 50/60Hz, and an operating temperature range of -55°C to +105°C. The PHE840M series capacitors offer a capacitance range of 0.01µF to 10.0µF, a rated voltage of 275/280V_AC, and an operating temperature range of -55°C to +105°C. KEMET PHE840E and PHE840M Suppression Film Capacitors are metallized polypropylene capacitors that are used worldwide as electromagnetic interference suppressors in all X2 and across-the-line applications.

KEMET EMI/RFI Suppression Capacitors offer a maximum voltage rating of 760V_ACand are ideal for capacitive power supplies.
