Texas Instruments TPS650243 Power Management Unit
Texas Instruments' TPS650243 power management unit (PMU) contains 6 channels of power management, 3 DC/DC buck converters, and 3 high-performance LDOs all packed in a 5x5mm QFN package. The 2.7 to 5.5V VIN range makes it ideal for single cell Li-Ion systems which support markets such as navigation systems, smart phones, PDAs, portable media players, and industrial hand-held devices. The device enables a single power management design that meets power and sequencing requirements of common MCU platforms.
Texas Instruments Power Distribution Switch: TPS2550/51
Texas Instruments' TPS2550/51 power distribution switch is intended for applications where heavy capacitive loads and short-circuits are likely to be encountered, incorporating a 100mOhm, N-channel MOSFET in a single package. The current-limit threshold is user adjustable between 100mA to 1.1A via an external resistor. The power-switch rise and fall times are controlled to minimize current surges during switching.
Texas Instruments Charger Front End Protection ICs
Texas Instruments’ BQ24314 series of highly integrated circuits provide protection to Li-ion batteries from charging circuit failures. The ICs continuously monitor input voltage, input current, and battery voltage. The devices feature 30V maximum input voltage, <1us response against input over-voltage, adjustable input current limit up to 1.5A, and a small 2x2mm² SON-8 package. The ICs provide a maximum amount of safety in the smallest solution size.
