Texas Instruments TMP006 Infrared Thermopile Sensor in Chip-Scale Package

Texas Instruments TMP006 Infrared Thermopile Sensors in Chip-Scale Package

The Texas Instruments TMP006 is the industry's first single-chip digital infrared (IR) MEMS temperature sensors. TI TMP006 Thermopile Sensors in a chip-scale package have 90% lower power consumption and are more than 95% smaller than existing solutions, allowing contactless temperature measurement. TI TMP006 temperature sensors use a thermopile to absorb the infrared energy emitted from the object being measured and use the corresponding change in thermopile voltage to determine the object temperature. The IR sensor voltage range is specified from -40ºC to +125ºC to enable use in a wide range of applications, including notebook case temperature, comfort index measurement, motor case temperature, and server farm power management.
