TAOS
|
Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions (TAOS) was formed in 1998, to develop, manufacture, and market leading-edge integrated optoelectronic products. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, TAOS’ semiconductor devices combine precision mixed-signal functionality with photo-detectors on the same integrated circuit to produce products with performance and cost advantages over conventional solutions.
TAOS’ intelligent opto sensors simplify analog-to-digital conversion of light and are designed to reduce the need for signal conditioning or pre-processing circuitry in light-centric systems. TAOS’ light sensing solutions improve system performance and reduce design-cycle time giving designers the flexibility they require.

TAOS Programmable Color Light-to-Frequency Converter
TAOS programmable color light-to-frequency converters are color-filtered sensors uniformly distributed across the sensing area, eliminating the need for a light diffuser. The TAOS TCS3200D, TCS3210D, and TCS230D color light-to-frequency converters
interface directly with a microcontroller or DSP and are available in
an 8-pin SoIC package. The output is a square wave and frequency
directly proportional to light intensity. The full-scale output
frequency can be scaled by one of three pre-set values via two control
input pins.
TAOS LTV RGB Sensor
The TAOS LTV RGB Sensor combines a photodiode, color filter, and transimpedance amplifier on a single die and the output is fed to an ADC for digital processing. This TAOS LTV RGB Sensor requires fewer components, saves board space, and reduces assembly cost over a discrete photodiode approach. This TAOS LTV RGB Sensor also simplifies design and board layout by integrated sensitive analog circuitry on-chip.
