ECIA Authorized Supertex Distributor

Supertex

Supertex, Inc. is a publicly held mixed signal semiconductor manufacturer, focused on high voltage analog and mixed signal products. Supertex provides these devices for use in the medical, imaging, automotive, industrial, telecommunication, networking, and consumer electronics industries.

Supertex HV9971 Isolated, Constant-Current LED Driver ICs

Supertex HV9971 isolated, constant-current LED driver ICs provide a current accuracy of ±3%, achieving tight regulation of an LED current. HV9971 peak-current mode PWM ICs control constant current output of a discontinuous conduction mode flyback converter. This Supertex LED driver enables solid-state lighting fixtures to meet UL compliance for galvanic isolation. It accepts AC input voltages of 80 to 264V and is optimized for operation at a constant frequency of 100kHz. This Supertex device maintains current accuracy while the IC is insensitive to external component tolerances and does not require an optocoupler. HV9771 LED driver ICs are ideally suited for driving high-brightness LEDs.

Supertex HV9961 LED Driver with Constant Current Control

The Supertex HV9961 LED driver IC with constant current control greatly improves accuracy and line and load regulation of the LED current without any need for loop compensation or high-side current sensing. The Supertex HV9961 LED driver provides output LED current accuracy of ±3% and comes equipped with a current limit comparator for hiccup-mode output short circuit protection. The Supertex HV9961 can be powered from an 8.0 to 450V supply and provides a PWM dimming input that accepts an external control TTL compatible signal. This LED driver IC with constant current control can be used as a drop-in replacement for many applications to improve the LED current accuracy and regulation.

Supertex TC6215 N- and P-Channel Enhancement Mode MOSFET

The Supertex TC6215 N-channel and P-channel enhancement mode dual MOSFET combines an advanced vertical DMOS structure and a high-quality gate manufacturing process to provide both the power handling capabilities of bipolar transistors and the high input impedance and positive temperature coefficient inherent in MOS devices. The Supertex TC6215 consists of high voltage, low threshold N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs in an 8-lead SOIC (TG) package. Both MOSFETs included in the TC6215 have integrated back to back gate-source Zener diode clamps and guaranteed Rds(on) ratings down to 4.0V gate drive, allowing them to be driven directly with standard 5.0V CMOS logic. These Supertex devices are free from thermal runaway and thermally-induced secondary breakdown.

Supertex HV9919 High Brightness LED Driver

The Supertex HV9919 high brightness LED driver is a PWM controller IC that drives high brightness LEDs using a buck topology. The Supertex HV9919 LED driver operates from an input voltage of 4.5 to 40VDC and employs hysteric control with a high-side current sense resistor to set the constant output current. The operating frequency range of the HV9919 high brightness LED driver can be set by selecting the proper inductor. Operation at high switching frequency is possible since the hysteric control maintains accuracy even at high frequencies. This Supertex device achieves LED brightness control with PWM dimming from an analog or PWM input signal. Unique PWM circuitry allows true constant color with a high dimming range. The dimming frequency is programmed using a single external capacitor.

Supertex CL3xx LED Drivers

Supertex´s CL3xx family of LED drivers is designed to drive three strings of LEDs at a constant current of 20, 25 or 30mA. The devices contain separate enable pins for each channel to allow PWM dimming, three-step linear dimming, and individual disconnection of any faulty LED string. These drivers by Supertex provide over-temperature protection, 90V standoff voltage, and a fixed drive current with a ±6% tolerance over a Vout range of 4-15V. The product is ideal for applications in low cost LED backlighting, LCD panels, indicator lamps, decorative lights, and general lighting.
