Sensor Digital Microphones

STMicroelectronics MEMS Audio Sensor Digital Microphones are ultra-compact, low-power, omnidirectional devices built with a capacitive sensing element and an IC interface. The sensing element, capable of detecting acoustic waves, is manufactured using a specialized silicon micromachining process dedicated to producing audio sensors. These devices have an acoustic overload point of 120 dBSPL with a best on the market 62.6 dB or 63 dB signal-to-noise ratio and -26 dBFS sensitivity. The MEMS Audio Sensor Digital Microphones comes in an SMD-compliant package and operates over an extended temperature range from -30ºC to +85ºC. This STMicroelectronics MEMS Audio Sensor Digital Microphones are ideal for use in a variety of applications, including mobile terminals and VoIP, laptop and notebook computers, and portable media players.

STMicroelectronics' STEVAL-MKI117V1 MEMS Microphone Demonstration Board based on the MP34DT01 and STM32 to provide and example of the decoding and streaming of digital MEMS microphone outputs. This demonstration board hosts the MP34DT01 (bottom-port digital microphone), working as a sensor, and the STM32F107RC microcontroller, working as an audio decoder.
