a vertical structure to STM's strip layout to yield one of the
industry's lowest levels of on-resistance and gate charge, making it
suitable for the most demanding high efficiency converters. These MDmesh™ II Power MOSFETs
are fully insulated, have a low profile package with increased creepage
path from pin to heatsink plate. They are 100% avalanche tested and
feature low input capacitance, gate charge, and gate input resistance.

STMicroelectronics SPV1020 Interleaved DC-DC Boost Converter
The STMicroelectronics SPV1020 Interleaved DC-DC Boost Converter is a monolithic device designed to maximize the power generated by photovoltaic panels independently of temperature and amount of solar radiation. The optimized of the power conversion is obtained with an embedded logic that performs that MPPT (maximum power point tracking) algorithm on the PV cells connected to the converter. One or more converters can be housed in the connection box of PV panels, replacing the bypass diodes. The maximum power point is locally computed, providing a higher efficiency at system level than one of the conventional topologies. The STMicroelectronics SPV1020 DC-DC Boost Converter embeds the power MOSFETs for active switches and synchronous rectification, minimizing the number of external devices. The switching frequency of the SPV1020 is internally generated, set by default at 100kHz, and is externally tunable. The duty cycle can range from 5% to 90% with a step of 0.2%.

STMicroelectronics SPV1001N30 Cool Bypass Switch is a system-in-package solution for photovoltaic applications to perform cool bypass rectification similar to that of a conventional Schottky diode but with much lower forward voltage drop and reverse leakage current. The STMicroelectronics SPV1001N30 Cool Bypass Switch consists of a power MOSFET transistor which charges a capacitor during the OFF time and drives its gate during the ON time using the charge previously stored in the capacitor.
