SMSC LAN9303 / LAN9303M Ethernet Switches

The SMSC LAN9303 and LAN9303M are high-performance, small-footprint, full-featured 3-port managed Ethernet switches. Both SMSC devices are application-optimized for consumer electronic designs that have a rapid development cycle and require low-cost switching functionality, flexibility, and ease of integration. Featuring the industry’s smallest form factor 3-port switches, the SMSC LAN9303 and LAN9303M support compact PCB design and single (LAN9303) or dual (LAN9303M) MII/RMII/Turbo MII (Media Independent, Reduced Media Independent and Turbo Media Independent Interfaces). The second MII/RMII/Turbo MII port on the LAN9303M enables direct connectivity with home networking technologies such as MoCA®, HomePlug®, HomePNA™ (HPNA), and Optical Fiber, among others.

The SMSC USB3320 / USB331x Hi-Speed USB 2.0 transceiver family provides highly integrated, small-footprint solutions designed to help meet the tight board space and cost requirements of today's portable consumer electronics products. SMSC USC3320 and USB331x transceivers eliminate the need for external USB switches and ESD protection devices, minimizing eBOM part count and PCB area. This SMSC Hi-Speed USB 2.0 transceiver family provides an extremely flexible solution allowing the USB connector to act as a single port of connection for Hi-Speed data transfer, battery charging, and stereo/mono audio accessories. The USB3320 packs all of these features into a 32QFN package and protects products from extreme over-voltage conditions up to +30V on VBus.

SMSC LAN9512 / LAN9514 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Hub and Ethernet Controller

The SMSC LAN9512 and LAN9514 are the industry's first integrated Hi-Speed USB 2.0 hub and 10/100 Ethernet controllers. The SMSC LAN9512 and LAN9514 are specifically designed to provide system architects with a low-cost, power-efficient, small-footprint USB to Ethernet and multi-port USB connectivity solution in a single package. These SMSC devices contain a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 hub with two (LAN9512) or four (LAN9514) fully-integrated downstream USB 2.0 PHYs, an integrated upstream USB 2.0, a 10/100 Ethernet MAC/PHY controller, and an EEPROM controller. The LAN9512 and LAN9514 simplify system design by leveraging the existing USB stack, which reduces PCB footprint by up to 65% compared to discrete competitive solutions.
