SMSC USB333x / USB334x USB 2.0 Transceivers

SMSC USB333x / USB334x Hi-Speed USB 2.0 transceivers deliver enhanced USB functionality for the portable market with support for the latest USB-IF Battery Charging 1.1 (BC 1.1) specification. This SMSC family of USB 2.0 devices dramatically reduces the time required for battery charging and system bill-of-material (BOM) costs by up to 60% over competitive solutions. The new USB333x / USB334x provides an excellent compliment to USB charging ports by enabling portable devices to negotiate up to three times the charging current compared to a standard USB port, resulting in faster battery charging. USB333x / USB334x USB 2.0 transceivers are designed in a small footprint package and reduces the number of external components through the integration of voltage regulators and other discretes.

SMSC LAN8710A 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Transceivers

SMSC LAN8710A high-performance, small-footprint, low-power 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX transceivers are specifically designed for today's consumer electronics, industrial, and enterprise applications. LAN8710A transceivers are the industry's smallest footprint solutions with up to 40% lower power consumption than existing SMSC transceivers. SMSC LAN8710A transceivers have an integrated voltage regulator and ESD protection components to help reduce Bill of Material (BOM) costs. The LAN8710A connects to the MAC layer using a variable voltage, digital standard MII or RMII interface. The device supports HP Auto-MDIX, employ SMSC's proprietary flexPWR® technology and are available in both extended commercial (0º to 85ºC) and industrial (-40º to 85ºC) temperature range options.

SMSC LAN7500 Gigabit Ethernet Controllers

SMSC LAN7500 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet controllers provide a high-performance and cost-effective USB to Ethernet connectivity solution. The SMSC LAN7500 Ethernet controller contains an integrated 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet PHY, USB PHY, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 device controller, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet MAC, TAP controller, EEPROM controller, and a FIFO controller with a total of 32KB internal packet buffering. The device supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T Ethernet and implements Control, Interrupt, Bulk-in and Bulk-out USB endpoints. The Ethernet controller supports auto-negotiation, auto-polarity correction, HP Auto-MDIX support and is compliant with IEEE 802.3/802.3u/802.3ab standards. USB-based networking provides flexibility for the routing and placement of network connections anywhere in the system. USB-based solutions leverage the existing USB stack for the Ethernet driver. The SMSC LAN7500 is also available with a wide range of drivers including Windows®, Mac® and Linux® and in commercial (0º to 70ºC) and industrial temperature range (-40º to 85ºC) options.

SMSC LAN9303 / LAN9303M Ethernet Switches

The SMSC LAN9303 and LAN9303M are high-performance, small-footprint, full-featured 3-port managed Ethernet switches. Both SMSC devices are application-optimized for consumer electronic designs that have a rapid development cycle and require low-cost switching functionality, flexibility, and ease of integration. Featuring the industry's smallest form factor 3-port switches, the SMSC LAN9303 and LAN9303M support compact PCB design and single (LAN9303) or dual (LAN9303M) MII/RMII/Turbo MII (Media Independent, Reduced Media Independent and Turbo Media Independent Interfaces). The second MII/RMII/Turbo MII port on the LAN9303M enables direct connectivity with home networking technologies such as MoCA®, HomePlug®, HomePNA™ (HPNA), and Optical Fiber, among others.
