Silicon Labs Si5351 Any-Frequency CMOS Clock Generator

Generate All System Clocks from a Single Device

The Silicon Labs Si5351 is the industry's most frequency flexible, smallest, lowest power, lowest jitter in-circuit programmable CMOS clock generator. This Silicon Labs CMOS clock generator can generate any combination of 8 unique, non-integer related frequencies from 8 kHz to 133 MHz, providing the equivalent frequency flexibility of 8 PLLs. The Si5351 can generate all system clocks from a single device, simplifying design and minimizing cost. The Silicon Labs Si5351 clock generator also provides glitchless frequency shifting between two rates on up to six of the device outputs. T

The Si5351A generates up to 8 free-running clocks using an internal oscillator for replacing crystals and crystal oscillators. The Si5351B adds an internal VCXO and provides the flexibility to replace both free-running clocks and synchronous clocks. The Si5351C offers the same flexibility as the Si5351B but synchronizes to an external reference clock (CLKIN).

Silicon Labs Si535x Evaluation Boards

The Silicon Labs Si535x-20QFN-EVB and Si535x-24QSOP-EVB are used for evaluating the Si5350 / Si5351 any-frequency, <125 MHz CMOS clock generator + VCXO. These Si535x evaluation boards are fully powered from a single USB port and contain an onboard 27 MHz crystal for asynchronous operation. These Silicon Labs evaluation boards feature an SMA and test point hook for interfacing to an external clock reference. Jumper-selectable VDD and VDDOx allows each EVB to operate at 2.5 or 3.3 V. Voltage supply jumpers provide easy access for use with external supplies.
