The Freescale Semiconductor MC56F8006 / MC56F8002 digital signal controller (DSC) combines the functionality of a microcontroller (MCU) and the processing power of a digital signal processor (DSP) with a flexible set of peripherals to create an extremely cost-effective, powerful, and power-conscious embedded control solution. This Freescale Semiconductor device includes up to 16 KB of program Flash, 2 KB of unified data/program RAM, and on-chip features that include up to 32 MIPS at 32 MHz core frequency and DSP and MCU functionality in a unified, C compiler efficient architecture. The Freescale Semiconductor MC56F8006 / MC56F8002 DSC is ideal for power- and cost-sensitive motor control applications, such as three-phase BLDC motors, variable frequency drives, permanent magnet, synchronous motors, and handheld tool motors.
