Cirrus Logic CS1501 / CS1601 Digital PFC Controllers
The Cirrus Logic CS1501 / CS1601 family of digital PFC controllers feature superior efficiency and THD (total harmonic distortion) performance across variable load conditions and enable smaller, simpler designs through a reduction in boost inductor size along with fewer required external components. These high-performance, active digital PFC controllers are Variable Frequency Discontinuous Mode (VF-DCM) ICs featuring Cirrus Logic's EXL Core® Technology that enables intelligent and adaptive switching that traditional analog PFC devices lack. The CS1501 / CS1601 operate at switching speeds up to 70kHz and the CS1601H operates up to 100kHz. These next generation controllers feature Current Sense (CS) and Zero Crossing Detect (ZCD) functionality, which enables accurate over-current protection, high overall efficiency, and best-in-class THD. The CS1501 / CS1601 / CS1601H are targeted for use in switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) applications, including LED / Fluorescent Lighting, DTVs, Servers / Telecom, Notebooks, and Desktops under 300W.
