ROHM's BU9000XGWZ High-Efficiency Step-Down Switching Regulators are high efficiency 6MHz synchronous step-down switching regulators with ultra low current PFM mode. They provide up to 1.0A load current and an input voltage range from 3.0V to 5.5V, optimized for battery powered portable applications. The VML0806 case type measures just 0.8mm×0.6mm, with a height of only 0.36mm. As portable devices, such as smartphones and digital cameras get smaller and more sophisticated, thinner, more compact components are required. Until now, problems related to internal element miniaturization, bonding stability, package process accuracy, and surface mount technology limit the smallest conventional transistors to the 1006 size (1.0mm×0.6mm, t=0.37mm). ROHM was able to overcome these challenges by utilizing a smaller element and high-precision package process technology, resulting in an unprecedentedly compact form factor.

Rohm's BH1730FVC Ambient Light Sensor is a digital 16-bit serial output type ambient light sensor IC for I2C bus interface. This device is the most suitable to obtain the ambient light data for adjusting LCD backlight power of a TV or mobile phone. It is possible to detect a very wide range light intensity (0.008 - 65535 lx ). Features include an I2C bus interface, illuminance to digital converter, a very wide range and high resolution, low current by power down function, and it has a small measurement variation (+/- 15%). ROHM Semiconductor Evaluation Boards for BD9673 and BD9876 were designed to aid designers in evaluating BD9673EFJ and/or BD9876EFJ. These evaluation boards accept a wide power supply of 7-42V, a step down output of 1.2V/1.8V/3.3V/5V or any other user defined voltage can be produced. The ICs feature an internal 200mohm Nch MOSFET (3.5A max) and a synchronization frequency range of 200 kHz to 500 kHz. A Soft Start circuit prevents in-rush current during startup along with UVLO (low voltage error prevention circuit) and TSD (thermal shutdown detection) protection circuits. An EN pin allows for simple ON/OFF control of the IC to reduce standby current consumption.
