LSM303 3D Accelerometers/Magnetometer Models

STMicroelectronics LSM303 3D Accelerometers/Magnetometer Models are a system-in-package featuring a 3D digital linear acceleration sensor and a 3D digital magnetic sensor. The LSM303D has linear acceleration full-scales of ±2g / ±4g / ±6g / ±8g / ±16g and a magnetic field full-scale of ±2 / ±4 / ±8 / ±12 gauss. LSM303DLHC has linear acceleration full-scales of ±2g / ±4g / ±8g / ±16g and a magnetic field fullscale of ±1.3 / ±1.9 / ±2.5 / ±4.0 / ±4.7 / ±5.6 / ±8.1 gauss. All full-scales available are fully selectable by the user. Both devices includes an I2C serial bus interface that supports standard and fast mode 100 kHz and 400 kHz and the LSM303D includes a SPI serial standard interface.

The board offers an effective solution for fast system prototyping and device evaluation directly within the user's own application. The STEVAL-MKI106V1 can be plugged into a standard DIL 24 socket. The adapter provides the complete LSM303DLHC pinout and comes ready-to-use with the required decoupling capacitors on the Vdd power supply line. The pinout of the adapter is fully compatible with all other available adapter boards, making it possible to easily switch from one sensor to another during device evaluation without the need for board redesign.

STEVAL-MKI114V1 LSM303DLHC Magnetic Field Probe

STMicroelectronics STEVAL-MKI114V1 Magnetic Field Probe is a demonstration board that is made up of a probe, mounting the LSM303DLHC compass module, which is connected through flat cable to an adapter board designed to make it compatible with the STEVALMKI109V1. The device is mounted on the top of a very thin probe, due to its small package size. The probe can be easily used to measure magnetic field intensity, i.e. for finding the source of magnetic field disturbances on a PCB.
