STMicorelectronics STLUX385A Digital LED Lighting Driver is part of the MASTERLUX™ family of ST Microelectronics digital devices tailored for lighting and power conversion. The STLUX385A has been successfully integrated in a wide range of architectures and applications, starting from simple buck converters for LED driving, boost for power factor correction, half-bridge resonant converters for dimmable LED strings, up to full-bridge control in HID lamp ballasts, wireless power chargers and TV power supplies.

Application Note: Four Independent High Brightness LED Channels Using STLUX385A

STEVAL385LED4CH Digital 4-LED Demonstration Board

STMicroelectronics STEVAL385LED4CH Digital 4-LED Demonstration Board is a complete and configurable solution to manage four independent high brightness LED channels using the STLUX385A digital controller. The STLUX385A is part of STMicroelectronics’ MASTERLUX product family and embeds advanced peripherals tailored to generate high resolution PWM signals (SMED). The STEVAL385LED4CH implements inversed-buck topology to drive each LED channel. The SMED technology integrated in the STLUX385A regulates the LED current, exploiting the fixed-off-time (FOT) principle. Each channel can output current in the range of 250mA to 1A. The number of LEDs, the current and the PWM dimming working point can be set through the command interpreter, accessible via the serial interface. Dimming can also be manually adjusted via the three on-board buttons.
