Power Integrations InnoSwitch™ Off-Line Flyback CV/CC Switcher IC incorporates both primary secondary controllers with sense elements and a safety-rated feedback mechanism in a single surface-mounted off-line flyback switcher IC. Featuring Power Integrations' proprietary FluxLink™ communication technology, InnoSwitch enables feedback information to be delivered across an isolation barrier without the use of any magnetic materials. FluxLink delivers a very high communication bandwidth, which enables a much faster load-transient response. Close component proximity and innovative use of the integrated communication link permit accurate control of a secondary-side synchronous rectification MOSFET and optimization of primary-side switching to maintain high efficiency across the entire load range. By eliminating the need for bulky optocouplers, InnoSwitch saves space and increases power density. This is particularly beneficial for adapters and chargers.
