Atmel SAMA5D4 ARM-based Cortex-A5 MPU series offers a high-performance microprocessor (MPU) optimized for 720p video playback up to 30fps with advanced security features. SAMA5D4 integrates the ARM NEON™ SIMD (single instruction, multiple data) engine for accelerated signal processing, multimedia and graphics as well as a 128KB L2-Cache for excellent system performance. The device includes the ARM TrustZone®, enabling a strong security perimeter for critical software, as well as several hardware security features. Advanced security features include on-the-fly encryption and decryption of code from the external DDR memory, hardware accelerated RSA/ECC public (asymmetric) key cryptography, tamper pins detection, secure key storage, and more. The device also provides advanced user interface and connectivity peripherals. The comprehensive peripheral set consists of a 720p hardware video decoder, an LCD controller with overlays for hardware-accelerated image composition, a resistive touch screen function, and a CMOS sensor interface. Connectivity peripherals include a dual 10/100 Ethernet MAC with IEEE1588, three HS USB ports, UARTs, SPIs and I²Cs. Operating at 850DMIPS at under 150mW, the SAMA5D3 MPU is ideal for any high-performance, low-power and cost-sensitive industrial application such as control panels, HMI, fitness equipment, communications gateways, and imaging terminals.
