NXP SSL5015TE LED Driver Integrated Circuit (IC) is a high-voltage IC controller with an integrated MOSFET designed for driving LED lamps in general mains non-dimmable lighting applications. Dedicated to 100V(AC) or 120V(AC) input applications, SSL5015TE provides a small Printed-Circuit Board (PCB) footprint for a compact solution; high efficiency (up to 93%); high input power factor (>0.95); low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) (<20%); intermediate power factor (PF) (>0.7); low ripple (< 5%); minimum external component count; 1.3mA supply current, and enhanced power capability. Operating in Boundary Conduction Mode (BCM) with peak current modulation, SSL5015TE offers input power factor correction. Designers typically configure the IC to a buck converter. SSL5015TE can start up directly from the HV pin using an internal high-voltage current source. When the converter is switching, VCC is supplied through the DVDT pin by a capacitor coupled to the DRAIN pin or by an auxiliary supply. SSL5015TE enables designers to use a low-cost off-the-shelf inductor while maintaining flexibility in application design. The SSL5015TE is available in a compact HSO8 package with an exposed pad to enhance the thermal capability for high-power applications, such as 18W T-LEDs or higher power lamps.
