PTME Terminal Blocks
|
PTME is the first of its kind to use Phoenix Contact's Push-In Technology for the test, measurement, and maintenance of equipment. PTME includes PTME 4 and PTME 6. Phoenix Contact designed the 6 series with innovative plugs for current transformer (CT) shorting that allow “make first, break last” operation. The PTME series combines test and measurement disconnects with pluggable COMBI connectors for increased safety and assembly time savings.
PTME includes a screw-free knife disconnect lever that provides visual indication of the position of the switch. Each block includes bridging channels on either side of the disconnect lever. The pluggable shorting component locks into a bridging channel which accommodates push-in FBS bridges to allow easy access for installing test sockets.
Features
-
PTME 4 series – UL 24-10 AWG; 26 Amps at 300 volts
-
PTME 6 series – UL 20-8 AWG; Rating varies by specific blocks
-
Up to 50 percent reduction push-in force compared to other push-in type terminal blocks
-
Five times the IEC requirement for pull-out (retention) force
|
Applications
-
Power generation – Generator protection in power stations, regenerative energy generation
-
Energy distribution – Transformer, conductor, busbar protection, such as in distribution networks and transformation substations in medium- and high-voltage switching systems
-
Electrical machines, motors, drives and back-up power generators

The Phoenix Contact Push-in Technology line includes modular terminal blocks designed to provide an easy, direct conductor connection using the advantages of the CLIPLINE complete system. Phoenix Contact Push-in Technology Terminal Blocks enable designers to directly plug solid and stranded conductors with ferrules from 0.34mm² into the terminal block without the use of tools.
Features
Push-in Technology is characterized by an easy, direct conductor connection, and uses the advantages of the CLIPLINE complete system
Up to 50% lower insertion forces of the Push-in Technology connection method allow easy and direct plugging of solid and stranded conductors with ferrules from 0.34mm².
The integrated lever allows loosening of the connected conductors with every tool - simply and without direct contact to live parts.
