Molex 0.30mm pitch Easy-On™ FPC Connectors include a wide range of ultra low-profile FPC connectors designed for tight-packaging applications. The 0.30mm pitch Easy-On Connectors are available in a variety of fine-pitch options including push and flip-type actuators, which feature pre-assembled covers that secure the connection between the FFC-FPC and the connector terminals. The Easy-On actuator provides easy FPC cable insertion with an audible "click" when mated and a reliable FPC connection with Molex's cable retention feature. Designed to meet the downsizing needs of electronic equipment manufacturers, the offering includes dual-contacts to eliminate the need to source different top and bottom mount versions, narrow width versions for further space savings, and various cable tab and actuator locking styles to provide additional cable alignment and retention. Offering the most compact dimensions of any equivalent competitive version, the 0.30mm Easy-On BackFlip FPC Connectors enable designers to use a single connector and the same PCB pattern on adjoining parallel PCBs. With a unique terminal design that includes movable contacts, these connectors maintain secure connections between FPC contact pads and terminals even when the FPC cable is pulled up.

Molex Series 503566 Easy-On™ FPC Connectors offer the narrowest depth (2.85mm) of any Molex 0.30mm pitch versions. The series combines the optimal combination of space savings, contact retention assurance and ease-of-use for tight-packaging applications. The connector was designed for tight-packaging mobile applications such as smart phones or digital still cameras to allow manufacturers to reduce size while adding increased functionality. The 503566 series connector incorporates some of the proven features of other Molex FPC connectors such as a robust Easy-On™ actuator for stable mating functionality and reliable contact retention. The series also includes other new or improved design features such as: housing design that highlights the FPC ear tabs more to help assure proper cable seating; wider gap for easier cable insertion; and a longer area to hold onto the actuator to make assembly easier and quicker for operators.

Movable contacts provide both lower cable insertion force as well as more secure contact retention force. This is achieved by odd-numbered contacts moving with the cable in case it is pulled up or down to assure electrical contact is still maintained. While certain competitive versions may have a narrower depth or lower profile, the Molex 503566 version offers one of the best combinations of compact size, contact retention assurance and ease of use.

The series offers a low 1.1Omm profile, short width of 3.7Smm, and Easy-On™ BackFlip™ Actuator to achieve an overall space savings on smaller circuit sizes. With the actuator area separated from the contact area, the  Easy-On™ BackFlip™ Actuator  can help achieve lower profiles. In addition, the Easy-On™ BackFlip™ Actuator is often easier to actuate than front-flip types because it allows the designer to use both hands more easily.
