Molex 0.25mm Pitch Easy-On™ FPC Connectors

Molex introduces the 0.25mm Pitch Easy-On™ Top-Contact FPC Connectors to achieve greater PCB space savings and contact reliability. The 0.25mm Pitch Easy-On™ Top-Contact FPC Connectors (503300 Series) offer greater design flexibility as it enables designers to place the top-contact version on one board and wrap the FPC cable under to mate with a bottom-contact type (Molex 503320 Series). Featuring a unique spring-terminal design, the 503300 Series has a contact force that secures the actuator in place while at the same time providing contact force on the cable for secure electrical contact, even when subjected to shock or vibration. A robust front-flip Easy-On™ actuator design protects the actuator from damage or breaking by operator handling. With an ultra-narrow depth of 3.20mm, the 503300 Series provides PCB space savings when compared to competitive designs making it ideal for smart/ mobile phones, tablet PCs, car audio, digital still cameras, portable games, and navigation equipment. 

Molex designed the 0.25mm Pitch Easy-On™ Bottom-Contact Style (503320 Series) FPC Connectors with a higher housing area to provide greater space savings and flexibility for applications with tight space restraints. The higher housing area enables components such as small resistors, capacitors, and selected connectors to be placed under the FPC. Molex incorporated the design concepts of its earlier series FPC connectors in the bottom-style connectors including extended actuator construction, actuator-to-housing friction lock, front solder tab under the housing, a spring feature on contacts to retain electrical contact as terminals flex, 0.3mm pitch cable tolerance, and full zero insertion force (ZIF) construction to enable easier handling and cable insertion. The connectors are right angle, SMT, bottom contact mounting, and are available in a choice of 25, 37, or 41 contacts.
