MX150™ Sealed Connector System

Molex MX150 Sealed Connector System features pre-assembled, fully-submersible MX150 is a high-performance connectors offering a reduced package size. Molex MX150 Sealed Connectors are ideal for SAE- and ISO-style wire in single- and dual-row configurations up to 22.0A supporting both signal and power applications for on-engine automotive to off-road construction equipment applications.

Based on the 1.50mm ISO blade-type terminal system, the MX150 Connector System consists of matte- and cable-sealed connectors, receptacles and terminals. Available in tin, gold or silver contact finishes, the MX150 system provides cost savings by eliminating the need to purchase, handle and crimp individual wire seals. The single silicone-based seal in the plug and receptacle has individual wire openings and a seal cap to protect, securely retain and provide strain relief. Integral terminal position assurance (TPA) and optional connector position assurance (CPA) components eliminate time-consuming and costly assembly operations. Many of these products employ ring-seal technology to meet IP6K7 and IP6K9K sealing requirements.
Features and Benefits

Reduced 3.50mm pitch housing design

Supports single-row configurations for 2 to 6 circuits and dual-row configurations for 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 16 circuit hybrid

Pre-assembled housing, seal, TPA components and matte-seal connector shipped as single assembly

Applied labor and cost savings

Protective matte-seal cap (standard connectors)

Protects, securely retains and provides strain relief to wire seal interface

Conforms to USCAR-20 (FCLT) / USCAR-2 Rev 4 / USCAR-21

For use in on-engine, high vibration, under-hood and under-chassis environments at class 3 temperatures

High-temperature thermoplastic housing

Withstands Class 3 (-40 to +125°C) operating environments

Panel Mount gasket seal

Meets IP6K7 and IP6K9K sealing requirements

Twist Lock latching design with audible, tactile and visual feedback

Ensures reliable mating and locking upon assembly. Eliminates the need for additional fasteners

M3 Grip Terminals have ISO-wire sizes available, 0.35 and 0.50mm²

Small wire sizes provide optimum sealing performance and contribute less weight in the vehicle

MX150L™ Industrial Sealed Connector System

The Molex MX150L™ Industrial Sealed Connector System is designed to meet the need for a rugged, environmentally sealed connector system supporting both low-level signal applications as well as power applications up to 40.0A, from marine to off-road construction equipment applications. The system is comprised of wire-to-wire, wire-to-panel, and wire-to-board configurations for industrial applications but is not designed for automotive applications such as USCAR-2, USCAR-25, GMW3191, AK Testing, J2030, Volvo Technology Requirements and Toyota Connector Spec (TCS).

These innovative mat-sealed connectors are based upon the 1.50 and 2.50mm blade-type terminals. This design eliminates the need to purchase, handle and crimp individual wire seals to lower labor costs. The mat- seal design is a single silicone-based seal with individual wire openings and a seal cap to protect, securely retain and provide strain relief to the crimp assembly. The cost-effective connector features all-in-one plug and receptacle housings with pre-assembled mat and interfacial seals. Integral Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) and optional Connector Position Assurance (CPA) components ensure proper assembly and engagement. Completing the application is as simple as crimping the appropriate terminal, inserting the crimped terminal and engaging the TPA to its final locked position. No additional components are required. Tooling solutions include FineAdjust™ crimp press applicators for high-volume production, as well as hand tools for low-volume production and field repairs.

Features and Benefits

Pre-assembled connector housings and TPA components shipped in one-piece units

Applied labor and cost savings

Integral, two-way mat seal on the plugs and receptacles

Exceeds IEC IP67 “waterproof” requirements for a sealed-connector system; fully tested under submersed conditions in various fluids. Provides customers design flexibility with wire-to-board, wire-to-wire and wire-to-panel connection capabilities

Exceeds IP67 requirements and conforms to UL 1977 but is not designed for automotive applications with requirements such as USCAR-2, USCAR-25, GMW3191, AK Testing, J2030, Volvo Technology Requirements, and Toyota Connector Spec (TCS)

Meets stringent industry requirements for industrial vehicles

Integral terminal position assurance (TPA)

Ensures that crimped terminal leads are properly locked into connector (TPA will not seat into final lock position and connector system will not latch if terminal is not locked properly into position)

Sealed panel-mount plugs are equipped with blind-hole boss feature

Eliminates water ingress into connector system up to three feet of water submersion. Reduces extra hardware previously required for waterproof mating

Audible and tactile clicks on insertion, extraction and mating

No need to crimp individual wire seals

Simple crimp, poke-and-plug application

No need to crimp individual wire seals

Two pitch designs available each with two styles of terminals: 7.62mm pitch for wire sizes 8 to 12 AWG; 5.84mm pitch for wire sizes 14 to 22 AWG

Allows flexibility in selecting from a wide range of wire styles and insulation thicknesses

Two independent terminals for 8 AWG and 10 to 12 AWG wire
