Microchip's 16-bit eXtreme Low Power PIC® MCUs now include PIC24F32KA304, featuring 5V supply voltage, an on-chip 12-bit ADC, and EEPROM.

Expanding on Microchip's PIC24F16KA MCUs, the PIC24F32KA304 family offers twice the Flash program memory and 30% more RAM, thereby providing even more support for wireless communication protocol stacks. Additional improvements over the PIC24F16KA family include triple the number of timers and Pulse-Width Modulators, twice as many UART, I2C™, and SPI channels, quadrupled Analog-to-Digital Converter resolution, along with a pin-count increase to 44-pins. Automated scan in sleep mode is accomplished with a Charge Time Measurement Unit (CTMU). This enhancement enables extremely low-power capacitive sensing and even more battery power conservation. Full analog performance up to 5V is provided and the need for discrete voltage regulators eliminated, simplifying power-supply design.

PIC24F32KA304 uses Microchip's XLP technology which features extremely low sleep currents down to 20 nA. By offering more peripherals that operate in sleep mode without CPU intervention, designers can add more features without increase in power consumption.
