Maxim Integrated MAX8844Y / MAX8844Z dual input linear Li+ battery chargers are designed for charging a single-cell Li+ battery. The Maxim Integrated MAX8844Y and MAX8844Z integrate a current-sense circuit, MOSFET pass element, and thermal-regulation circuitry. These dual input Li+ battery chargers also eliminate the external reverse-blocking Schottky diode, creating the simplest and smallest charging solutions for handheld equipment. The MAX8844Y and MAX8844Z achieve high flexibility by providing adjustable fast-charge currents and an adjustable top-off current threshold through external resistors. Maxim Integrated MAX8844 devices are ideal for use in a variety of applications, including cell and cordless phones, smart phones and PDAs, digital cameras, MP3 players, and USB appliances. The MAX8844Z Evaluation Kit (EV kit) is a fully assembled and tested PCB for evaluating the MAX8844Z / MAX8844Y 28V linear Li+ battery chargers.
