Maxim Integrated's MAX14502A Hi-Speed USB -to- SD card readers with Bypass upgrade the USB SD card reader function of portable devices to USB Hi-Speed (480Mbps) operation. Maxim Integrated MAX14502A card readers accommodate clock input frequencies of 19.2MHz and feature USB 2.0 Hi-Speed and Full-Speed compliance and SDHC card support. The MAX14502A features pass thru and card reader modes of operation. The card reader mode allows the MAX14502A to implement a Hi-Speed USB card readerMaxim IC USB -to- SD card readers that operates independently of the host microprocessor. This mode preserves all the capabilities of the full-speed USB port and SD card slot while allowing a faster way for a PC to read or write to the SD card. These feature advanced power-saving modes to reduce power consumption in portable applications.
