Littelfuse Q Series Switching Thyristors

Littlefuse Q Series Switching Thyristors are bidirectional, solid-state protection devices designed to handle loads from 0.8 A to 40 A rms with 10 mA, 25 mA, and 50 mA IGT in operating Quadrants I, II, III and IV. Littelfuse developed the Q Series Switching Thyristors for a wide range of AC applications to control AC power either through full-cycle switching or phase control of current to the load element. The Q Series devices are rated to block voltage in the OFF condition from 200 V minimum with selected products capable of 1000 V operation. Internally-constructed, isolated packages are available for ease of heat sinking with highest isolation voltage.

Standard

Littelfuse's Standard Triacs are are bidirectional AC switches designed to handle loads from 0.8 A to 35 A rms with 10 mA, 25 mA, and 50 mA I GT in operating Quadrants I, II and III. The Standard Triacs are used in full-wave AC applications to control AC power either through full-cycle switching or phase control of current to the load element. The glass -passivated junctions enable long-term device reliability and parameter stability. Ideal for motor speed, heater, and incandescent light controls.

Littelfuse offers the Standard Triacs in TO-92, TO-220, Compak, TO-202, and TO-252 D-Pak, TO-251 V-Pak, and TO-263 D 2 Pak packages with isolated and non-isolated versions.

Alternistor

Littefuse designed the Alternistor Triacs to provide the highest commutation performance in applications with highly inductive loads. Alternistor Triacs operate in Quadrants I, II, and III, and are used in circuits requiring high dv/dt capability. Load capabilities range from 6 A to 40 A with blocking voltage rating from 200 V to 1000V. The innovative construction of the Littelfuse Alternistor Triacs offers the same performance as two thyristors (SCRs) wired inverse parallel (back-to-back). This design provides the equivalent of two electrically-separate SCR structures with enhanced dv/dt characteristics while retaining the advantages of a single-chip device.

Littelfuse offers the Alternistor Triacs in TO-220, TO-218, and TO-218X packages with isolated and non-isolated versions.
