Integrated Device Technology Qi-Certified Wireless Power Products

IDT offers the industry's most integrated and advanced wireless power solutions for magnetic inductance-based applications (also known as electromagnetic induction or direct induction). Magnetic inductance solutions transfer power between two coils that are placed in close proximity to each other, but that can be separated by non-interfering materials such as a plastic mobile phone enclosure or wooden table top. This technology facilitates the ubiquitous deployment of charging "hot spots", enabling consumers to charge their devices by simply placing them on a surface. IDT has pioneered this market by introducing the world's first true single-chip wireless power transmitter IC and the industry's first multi-mode capable single-chip wireless power receiver IC. The highly integrated wireless power receivers are multi-mode capable and significantly reduce board footprint and bill-of-materials (BOM) cost compared to other solutions. The magnetic induction devices are capable of "multilingual" (multi-mode) operation, supporting both the Qi wireless charging standard as well as proprietary formats for added features, improved safety, and increased power output capability. IDTP9020 Wireless Power Receiver

IDT's IDTP9020 Wireless Power Receiver is a highly integrated single-chip, WPC-compliant wireless power receiver IC. The device receives an AC power signal from compatible wireless transmitters and converts it into a regulated 5V output voltage, which can be used to power devices or supply the charger input in mobile applications. The IDTP9020 integrates a high efficiency synchronous full bridge rectifier, high efficiency synchronous buck converter, and control circuits used to modulate the load to transmit WPC compliant message packets to the transmitter station to optimize power delivery. In WPC mode, power delivery is limited to 5W in accordance with the Qi specification. IDTP9020 may be operated in alternative modes where additional proprietary functions such as advanced multi layered Foreign Object Detection (FOD), 2-way secure authentication, and higher-efficiency control algorithms may be employed.

IDT's IDTP9024 is an integrated single-chip Power Matters Alliance PMA-compatible, wireless power receiver IC. The device operates with an AC power signal from a resonant tank and converts it into a regulated 5V output voltage used to supply power to a mobile application. It includes a high efficiency Synchronous Full Bridge Rectifier and 5V tracking LDO output stage. The IDTP9024 is used in PMA-only mode with DC modulation connections for low-cost minimized BOM applications. IDT's IDTP9030 Single-Chip Wireless Power Transmitter IC for TX-A1/A10 is a highly integrated single-chip WPC compliant wireless power transmitter solution. The device integrates a variable frequency half-bridge power inverter for DC-AC conversion, capable of operating through a wide range of DC input voltages. As specified by the WPC transmitter specification, the power transferred to the device under charge is controlled by varying the switching frequency of the half bridge inverter from 110kHz to 205kHz. All the logic and other circuitry needed to receive and decode WPC compliant packets from the mobile device and to execute the requested power adjustments are also fully integrated into the IDTP9030. It contains logic circuits required to demodulate and decode WPC compliant message packets sent by the mobile device to adjust transferred power. IDTP9030 also may be operated in proprietary modes where it employs additional proprietary functions such as two extra levels of Foreign Object Detection (FOD), 2-way secure authentication between base and mobile, and IDT proprietary control algorithms for higher efficiency.

IDT's IDTP9038 Wireless Power Transmitter is a WPC-compliant Wireless Power Transmitter for A5 and A11 designs operating from 5V supplies which conforms with WPC Specification 1.1. Operating in the WPCcompliant mode, the integrated full-bridge inverter supports 8W power transfer utilizing the IDTP902X Receiver family, and ensures efficient switching with EMI/RFI emissions that are better than the requirements of the WPC specification. An embedded microcontroller provides extensive control & application flexibility.
