Synchronous Constant-Current Series Boost LED Driver with PWM Brightness Control and Integrated Load Disconnect
The FAN5340 is a synchronous constant-current LED driver capable of efficiently delivering up to 500mW to a string of up to four LEDs in series. Optimized for small form-factor applications, the 1.2MHz fixed switching frequency allows the use of chip inductors and capacitors. For safety, the device features integrated short-circuit detection plus over-voltage and thermal shutdown protections. In addition, input under-voltage lockout protection is triggered if the battery voltage is low. Brightness (dimming) control is implemented by applying a PWM signal of 300Hz to 1kHz on the EN pin. During shutdown, the FAN5340 disconnects the LED anodes from the output of the boost regulator, which holds the boost regulator's voltage on COUT, reducing audible noise from the PWM dimming, and removing power from the LED string.

6-LED Series Boost LED Driver with Single-Wire Digital Interface
The
FAN5343 is an asynchronous constant-current LED driver capable of
efficiently delivering up to 500mW to a string of six (6) LEDs in
series. Optimized for small form factor applications, the 1.2MHz fixed
switching frequency allows the use of small chip inductors and
capacitors. The FAN5343 uses a single-wire digital control interface to
program the brightness levels of the LEDs in 32 linear steps by applying
digital pulses. For safety, the device features integrated
over-voltage, overcurrent, short circuit detection, and thermal shutdown
protection. In addition, input under-voltage lockout protection is
triggered if the battery voltage is too low. The FAN5343 is available in
a very low profile, small form factor 2mm x 2mm x 0.55mm 6-lead UMLP
package that is green and RoHS compliant.

FAN5622 / FAN5624 / FAN5626 Linear LED Drivers with Single-Wire Digital Interface
Two-, four-, and six-channel current-sink linear LED drivers are used to backlight the main LCD displays or keypads in mobile electroncis, such as cellular phone handsets. A very low dropout of 50mV allows driving LEDs without any inductors or switch capacitors. The brightness levels of the LED outputs are programmed through a single-wire digital control interface that allows programming of 32 linear dimming steps and turn on/off by applying digital pulses. Provides high efficiency due to the low drop-out voltage and good matching between different channels of LED output across the entire 32 dimming steps, as well as integrate short circuit, under-voltage, and thermal protection to ensure a more robust solution.

Programmable Indicator "Soft" LED Blinker with
TinyWire™ Single-Wire Interface
The FAN5646 is a flexible and compact solution for a blinking or "breathing" LED indicator. The internal programmable blink algorithm eliminates any need for continual system processor control. This means longer battery life for a hand-held system because the system processor is not awakened from sleep mode to blink an LED. Very low dropout of 80mV allows driving an LED without any inductors or switch capacitors. LED blink rate, rise and fall time, and CTRL line behavior can be programmed by a TinyWire single-wire digital interface. The on-time and time between pulses can be set for up to two different pulse widths. The default for FAN5646 option 01 is "follow" mode, where the LED turns on with the programmed rise time, then stays on as long as CTRL remains HIGH. When CTRL falls, the LED turns off at the programmed fall time. For option 00; when CTRL is HIGH continuously, the LED repeats the programmed pattern.

Compact 6-Channel LED Driver for Mobile Handsets
The FAN5701 is a highly integrated and efficient chargepump-based multi-LED driver. The device can drive up to six LEDs in parallel with a total output current of 180mA. The FAN5701 is capable of driving a primary display backlight requiring four to six LEDs. When more than four LEDs are needed for backlighting, the FAN5701's two PWM dimming inputs can be connected together to provide the proper dimming control for all six LEDs. When a primary and sub-display is needed, the FAN5701 can be controlled such that each group can be dimmed independently. For candybar phones requiring a primary display and simple keypad lighting, the FAN5701 offers a simple and compact lighting solution. Regulated internal current sinks deliver excellent current and brightness matching to all six LEDs. The device provides excellent efficiency without an inductor by operating the charge pump in 1.5x or pass-through modes. The FAN5701 can be ordered with default ISET values of 30mA, 20mA, 15mA, or 8mA and available in WLCSP or ultra-thin UMLP package types. The default ISET is always determined by the part number purchased.

Configurable 180mA, 6-Channel LED Driver with I2C Control
for Mobile Handsets
The
FAN5702 is a highly integrated and configurable charge chargepump-
based multi-LED driver. The device can drive up to six LEDs in parallel
with a total output current of 180mA. Regulated internal current sinks
deliver excellent current and brightness matching to all LEDs. The
FAN5702 has an I2C interface that allows the user to
independently control the brightness with a default grouping of
2,1,1,1,1 for a maximum of five independent lighting channels. The LED
driver can be programmed in a multitude of configurations to address
broad lighting requirements for different platforms. Each LED can be
configured through I2C as five independent channels (Group A has two
LEDs by default) or any additional LEDs can join Group A to increase the
backlighting needs as the display size increases. The device offers a
second dimming control using the EN/PWM pin. Applying a PWM dimming
signal to this pin allows control of the dimming of Group A LEDs so that
the average current is the linear value multiplied by the PWM dimming
duty-cycle. The device provides excellent efficiency, without an
inductor, by operating the charge pump in 1.5x or pass-through mode. The
FAN5702 can be ordered with default ISET values of 30mA, 20mA, 15mA, or
8mA. The default ISET is always determined by the ISET ordered.
