Exar XRP7665 Step-Down PowerBlox Converters

Exar XRP7665 Step-Down PowerBlox™ Step-Down Converters are optimized for 12V input voltage rail and also capable of operating from a 5V rail, addressing the needs for smaller footprint and substantial savings in cost-sensitive applications. These Exar step-down converters have a maximum load current of 3A and operating input voltage of up to 18V. They operate in at a fixed 340 kHz switching frequency and can reach up to 93% efficiency in a compact "green" SOIC package. Design flexibility of any point-of-load supply with the XRP7665 is further enhanced with the availability of a dedicated enable function and programmable soft start. Built-in current limit, output over voltage and thermal shutdown protection provide the XRP7665 with fail-safe operations. These Exar step-down converters are ideal for use in audio-video equipment such as set-top boxes, telecom, computing peripherals and more generally distributed point-of-load conversions.
