General Purpose I/O Expanders

These Exar XRA12xx 8-Bit I2C/SMBus General Purpose I/O Expanders feature a I2C/SMBus interface. After power-up, the XRA12xx 8-Bit General Purpose I/O Expanders include an internal 100K ohm pull-up resistors on each I/O pin that can be individually enabled. In addition, the GPIOs on these Exar XRA12xx 8-Bit General Purpose I/O Expanders can individually be controlled and configured. Applications for these devices include PDAs, cell phones, data, battery operated, GPS and bluetooth devices.

  • 1.65V to 3.6V operating voltage
  • 8 or 16 General Purpose I/Os (GPIOs)
  • 5V tolerant inputs
  • Maximum stand-by current of 1uA at +1.8V
  • I2C/SMBus bus interface
