Linx Technologies 232FHSS
Transceiver & Evaluation Modules
Linx Technologies 232FHSS Transceiver Modules each combine a state-of-the-art low power wireless transceiver with a powerful multipoint-to-multipoint frequency protocol controller to form a complete wireless communication solution. With a simple UART interface, a 125dB link budget, and very low power operation modes, the 232FHSS module is excellent for AMR, RFID, home automation, and any other application requiring long range (7 miles LOS, 1500 feet indoors) and long battery life.
232FHSS can operate as a transparent wire replacement solution, and can also operate in a peer-to-peer networked mode that supports node addressing and assured delivery. The module is designed to be totally transparent. Data is validated using an internally generated CRC-16 and encoded using a proprietary algorithm. Multiple modules can operate on the same channel because of the built-in carrier-sense-multiple-access (CSMA) protocol.
The 232FHSS modules are part of the family of WiSE (Wireless Serial Engine) modules. A WiSE module combines a state-of-the-art FSK data transceiver and a high-performance protocol controller to create a complete embedded wireless communications link in a small IC-style package. The 250mW RF transceiver is built around the Analog Devices ADF7020 IC, whereas the 25mW version uses the Semtech XE1203F transceiver IC. Both transceivers are designed with the components necessary to facilitate operation in the 902-928MHz US ISM band.
