Texas Instruments TPS8267x and TPS84620 are power management ICs for point-of-load designs raise the bar for size, power density, and performance. The TI TPS8267x and TPS84620 integrated power solutions ease design and speed time-to-market in portable electronics, communications, and industrial applications.

TPS8267x high-efficiency MicroSIP™ step-down converters are complete 600mA, DC/DC step-down power supply devices intended for low-power applications. Included in the package are the switching regulator, inductor, and input/output capacitors. No additional components are required to finish the design. The TI TPS8267x MicroSiP DC/DC converters operate at a regulated 5.5MHz switching frequency and enter the power-save mode operation at light load currents to maintain high efficiency over the entire load current range. The PFM mode extends the battery life by reducing the quiescent current to 17µA (typ) during light load operation.

The TPS84620 is an easy-to-use integrated power solution that combines a 6A DC/DC converter with power MOSFETs, an inductor, and passives in a compact package. This total power solution allows as few as 3 external components and eliminates the loop compensation and magnetics part selection process.

The TI TPS8267xEVM-646 and TI TPS84620EVM-692 are fully assembled and tested modules for testing the TI TPS8267x and TPS84620 power solution. The TI TPS8267xEVM-646 features an input voltage range of 2.3 V up to 4.8 V, fixed output voltages, and up to 600-mA output current. The TI TPS8267xEVM-646 offers 5.5-MHz regulated frequency operation and a total solution size of <6.7 mm².

The TI TPS84620EVM-692 is a fully assembled and tested circuit for evaluating the TPS84620 4.5-V to 14.5-V Input, 6-A Synchronous Buck, Integrated Power Solution. The TPS84620EVM-692 incorporates a DC/DC converter with output voltage and frequency that are adjustable using jumpers.
