TI AM1806 / AM1808 Sitara ARM9™ MPUs

Texas Instruments AM1806 and AM1808 Sitara ARM9™ Microprocessors are low-power applications processors that allow you to quickly develop designs featuring robust operating systems support, rich user interfaces, and high processing performance life. TI AM1806 and AM1808 Sitara MPUs feature an ARM926EJ-S 32-bit RISC processor core that performs 32- or 16-bit instructions and 32-, 16-, or 8-bit data. The core uses pipelining so that all parts of the processor and memory system can operate continuously. The peripheral set of the TI AM1808 includes a 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet MAC (EMAC) with a Management Data Input/Output (MDIO) module. It also has a SATA controller that provides a high-speed interface to mass data storage devices. The SATA controller supports both SATA I (1.5 Gbps) and SATA II (3.0 Gbps). AM1806 and AM1808 MPUs both include a USB 2.0 OTG interface, two I²C bus interfaces, one multichannel audio serial port (McASP) with 16 serializers and FIFO buffers, and more. These TI Sitara ARM9 MPUs also provide a Universal Parallel Port that provides a high-speed interface to many types of data converters, FPGAs, or other parallel devices. A Video Port Interface (VPIF) is also included.

Texas Instruments TMDSEXP1808L AM18x eXperimenter Kit evaluates the functionality of the AM1806 and AM1808 applications processors. The kit includes the AM1808 SOM-M1 processor, application baseboard, touch-screen LCD, and software required for development work. Texas Instruments TMDSLCDK138 OMAP-L138 DSP+ARM9™ Development Kit (LCDK) will enable fast and easy Linux software and hardware development. This scalable platform will ease and accelerate software and hardware development of everyday applications. These applications require real-time signal processing and control functional, including industrial control, medical diagnostics and communications. This low-cost kit, complete with freely downloadable and duplicable board schematics and design files, greatly reduces design work. A wide variety of standard interfaces for connectivity and storage allow developers to easily bring audio, video and other signals onto the board. Expansion headers such as LCD screen expansion headers and Leopard Imaging's camera sensor allow customers to extend the board's functionality. The development kit does not have an on-board emulator. An external emulator from TI (such as the XDS100, XDS200, XDS510, XDS560) or a third-party will be required to start development.
