Texas Instruments TPS6209x high frequency synchronous step down converters are optimized for small solution size and high efficiency and are suitable for battery powered applications. These converters maximize efficiency by operating in PWM mode with a nominal switching frequency of 2.8MHz / 1.4MHz. TI TPS6209x step down converters automatically enter Power Save Mode operation at light load currents. When used in distributed power supplies and point of load regulation, these devices allow voltage tracking to other voltage rails and tolerate output capacitors ranging from 10µF up to 150µF and beyond.

TPS62090EVM-063 is a fully assembled and tested circuit for evaluating TPS62090 step-down converter. TPS62090 operates with an input voltage between 2.5V and 6V and an output voltage of 1.8V using external resistors. TPS62090 can deliver up to 3000mA of continuous current. The converter has a programmable soft-start, a power-out good status, and several other safety features.
