Texas Instruments TPS54294 dual, adaptive on-time D-CAP2™ mode synchronous buck converter enables system designers to complete the design of power bus regulators with a low component count and low standby current solution. The main control loops of the TI TPS54294 use the D-CAP2 mode control for very fast transient response with no external compensation components. The adaptive on-time control of this TI synchronous step-down switcher supports seamless transition between PWM mode at higher load conditions and Eco-mode™ operation at light loads. Eco-mode™ allows the TPS54294 to maintain high efficiency during lighter load conditions. The TPS54294 is able to adapt to both low equivalent series resistance (ESR) output capacitors and ultra-low ESR, ceramic capacitors. This TI device is ideal for use in digital TV power supply, networking home terminal, and digital set top box applications. TPS54294EVM-057 evaluation module (EVM) is a fully assembled and tested circuit for evaluating the TPS54294.
