Texas Instruments Tiva™ C Series Microcontrollers are the first ARM Cortex™-M4 MCUs to be implemented on TI's proprietary 65-nm process technology. Tiva C Series devices increase connectivity integration without sacrificing price, performance, or power consumption. Every TI Tiva C Series MCU integrates a floating-point core and high-performance analog-to-digital converters while still providing low-power modes that consume as little 1.6μA. With up to 40 PWM outputs, a generous number of serial communication peripherals, USB OTG, and two CAN controllers, the Tiva C Series provides an excellent baseline for home, building, and industrial applications.

Texas Instruments TM4C123x Tiva™ C Series MCUs provide a broad portfolio of connected Cortex™-M4F microcontrollers. Designers who migrate to the Tiva C Series MCUs benefit from a balance between the floating-point performance needed to create highly responsive mixed-signal applications and the lowpower architecture required to enable increasingly aggressive power budgets. Tiva C Series MCUs are supported by TivaWare™ for C Series software, designed specifically for those customers who want to get started easily, write production-ready code quickly, and minimize their overall cost of software ownership. TM4C123x MCUs offer 12-bit ADC accuracy achievable at the full 1 MSPS rating without any hardware averaging, eliminating performance tradeoffs. These are the first ARM Cortex-M MCU in advanced 65-nm process technology, providing the right balance between higher performance and low power consumption.

Texas Instruments Tiva C Series TM4C129x Microcontrollers will allow designers to develop a new class of highly connected products using the first ARM® Cortex®-M4 MCU with integrated Ethernet MAC+PHY, along with on-chip communication peripherals. Engineers will have the ability to enhance product features and communicate to industrial and HMI applications with integrated data protection, robust memory and LCD controller. They can further control and differentiate products with TivaWare™, including 50+ software application examples, along with TI's strong development ecosystem.

Texas Instruments TM4C129x Tiva™ C Series Connected Development Kit is a versatile and feature-rich engineering platform. This kit highlights the 120MHz Tiva C Series TM4C129XNCZAD ARM® Cortex™-M4 based microcontroller. It includes an integrated 10/100 Ethernet MAC + PHY as well as many other key features. The kit also includes an In-Circuit Debug Interface (ICDI) and extensive software offerings. These provide libraries for key functions, source code examples, and important utilities to allow professional engineers to build and debug C code-based solutions quickly and efficiently. There are several supported integrated development environments (IDEs), including Keil, Mentor Embedded, IAR Systems, and Code Composer Studio™ for use with this kit.

TM4C129EXL Crypto Connected LaunchPad

Texas Instruments TM4C129EXL Crypto Connected LaunchPad is powered by hardware encryption accelerator-enabled MCUs. It enables engineers to develop high performance, data protected, connected IoT applications from secure cloud connection, building/factory automation and smart grid to industrial controls. This evaluation kit is a low-cost platform for ARM® Cortex-M4-based microcontrollers. The kit design highlights the TM4C129ENCPDT MCU with on-chip Crypto acceleration hardware. It includes 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY, USB 2.0, hibernation module, motion control pulse-width modulation and a multitude of simultaneous serial connectivity. The out-of-box demo for the Crypto Connected LaunchPad demonstrates the use of Transport Layer Security/Secure Sockets Layer (TLS/SSL) protocol to connect an IoT product to a cloud server securely. The TLS/SSL support is provided by WolfSSL library that uses the TM4C129E MCU's hardware crypto accelerators. This enables the development of secure connected applications at relatively higher performance.

Cortex-M4

Tiva is the new name for TI's low-end Cortex-M series. Tiva C Series TM4C123x MCUs were formerly known as Stellaris® LM4F MCUs. Tiva MCUs are built upon common software libraries to help ease migration across future Tiva ARM MCUs for a wide range of connected applications.


Cortex-M3

Stellaris Cortex-M3 MCUs have been phased out and are no longer recommended for new designs. TI still offers C2000 Piccolo Cortex-M3 devices.
