Specialized Power Modules

High Output Voltage Power Modules
The LMZ1420xH SIMPLE SWITCHER power modules have an output voltage range from 5V to 30V, while the LMZ1360xH and LMZ2360xH modules have an output voltage range from 3V to 16V. These power modules are ideal for intermediate rail conversions, powering fans or other types of non-traditional points of load, and for sensing applications requiring voltages below -6V.

Extended Temperature (EXT) Power Modules
SIMPLE SWITCHER EXT power modules provide excellent performance in the most extreme conditions, with extended ambient temperatures guaranteed down to -55ºC and shock and vibration compliant to meet military MIL-STD-883 standards.

LMZ2 SIMPLE SWITCHER power modules are available in output currents up to 10A with additional features for powering high current intermediate rails, FPGAs, and noise sensitive applications. They also feature a frequency synchronization pin that controls the switching frequency of the internal circuitry, and a current sharing pin for paralleling multiple power modules together for achieving up to 60A of output current.

SIMPLE SWITCHER® Controllers

Texas Instruments SIMPLE SWITCHER® Controllers are easy-to-use and simplified step down power controllers capable of providing up to 12A of output current in a typical application. The SIMPLE SWITCHER controller series features a synchronous architecture that allows for efficiencies up to 93% and is capable of driving up to 1MHz of switching frequency and supporting a wide input voltage range from 6 to 42V.

LM315x Controllers

TI LM3151 / LM3152 / LM3153 SIMPLE SWITCHER Controllers operate with an input voltage range from 6V-42V, feature a fixed output voltage of 3.3V and offer switching frequencies of 250kHz, 500kHz, and 750kHz. LM3150 offers adjustable output to 1MHz. These SIMPLE SWITCHER Controllers employ a Constant On-Time (COT) architecture with a proprietary Emulated Ripple Mode (ERM) control that allows for the use of low ESR output capacitors, which reduces overall solution size and output voltage ripple. These synchronous step-down controllers are designed for use in telecom, networking equipment, security surveillance, and other applications.

The LM315x Series controllers come with a complete package of design tools to assist with every step of the design process, including: fully supported by WEBENCH tools, external component selection including MOSFET selection, electrical and thermal simulation, and board evaluation.

The LM315x Series also features external component count down to 11 components required for a complete design, and a constant on time (COT) architecture to simplify the design process. This COT architecture eliminates the need for compensation circuitry while still providing a fixed output voltage and frequency.

LM3481 Controllers

The LM3481 is a versatile Low-Side N-FET high performance controller for switching regulators. It is suitable for use in topologies requiring a low-side FET, such as boost, flyback, SEPIC, etc. The LM3481 can be operated at extremely high switching frequencies in order to reduce the overall solution size. The switching frequency of the LM3481 can be adjusted to any value between 100 kHz and 1 MHz by using a single external resistor or by synchronizing it to an external clock. Current mode control provides superior bandwidth and transient response in addition to cycle-by-cycle current limiting. Current limit can be programmed with a single external resistor.
