Silicon Labs' Si101x Wireless Microcontroller (MCU) family offers the industry's lowest power single-chip microcontroller with an integrated sub-GHz RF transceiver. This wireless MCU family is designed to address the specific requirements of low-power embedded systems requiring an RF bidirectional communication link for applications such as smart metering, in-home utility monitoring, wireless security panels, access control and home/building automation. These microcontrollers have the industry's lowest power consumption in all modes: active, sleep and deep sleep. The Si101x wireless MCU family offers devices that are configured with either 16 or 8 kB of on-board flash memory and a maximum transmit output power of +13 or +20dBm. The Si1014 and Si1015 also include an integrated dc-dc boost converter with a switching efficiency of up to 90%, which can greatly increase system battery life.

Silicon Labs’ Si106x/8x Wireless MCUs combine high-performance wireless connectivity and ultra-low power microcontroller processing into a small 5mm x 6mm form factor. Support for major frequency bands in the 142 to 1050MHz range is provided including an integrated advanced packet handling engine and the ability to realize a link budget of up to 146dB. The devices have been optimized to minimize energy consumption for battery-backed applications by minimizing TX, RX, active, and sleep mode current as well as supporting fast wake-up times. The Si106x Wireless MCUs are pin-compatible with the Si108x devices that can scale from 8 to 64 kB of flash and provides a robust set of analog and digital peripherals including an ADC, dual comparators, timers, and GPIO. All devices are designed to be compliant with the 802.15.4g smart metering standard and support worldwide regulatory standards including FCC, ETSI, and ARIB.
