Silicon Labs EZRadioPRO® ISM Band ICs

Silicon Labs EZRadioPRO® ISM Band ICs include all the attractive features of the EZRadio® RF transmitters, receivers and transceivers, such as high integration, low cost, flexibility, low BOM and easy design-in, these EZRadioPRO® target more sophisticated ISM band applications and offer several enhanced parameters and features including continuous frequency coverage from 119 - 960 MHz and output power up to +20 dBm. Also included are built-in features such as wake-up timer, low battery detector, transmit and receive data FIFOs, power-on reset circuit and general-purpose digital I/Os.

Si4030/31/32

The Si4030/31/32 transmitters are members of the EZRadioPRO® product family. While retaining all the attractive features of the earlier products such as high integration, low cost, flexibility, low BOM and easy design-in, they target more sophisticated applications and offer several enhanced parameters and features including output power up to +20 dBm. The transmitters provide continuous frequency coverage from 240 - 960 MHz. When used in any one of the standard ISM bands that fall within this range, the devices comply with the relevant FCC and ETSI requirements if a properly designed antenna matching and filter network is used. Apart from this, only a 30 MHz crystal and supply bypass capacitors are necessary as external components, making the devices ideal for high-volume production in applications where size and cost are important. At the application level, built-in features such as wake-up timer, low battery detector, transmit data FIFO, power-on reset circuit and general-purpose digital I/Os simplify the task of the system designer and allow the use of cost-effective microcontrollers.

Si4330

The Silicon Labs Si4330 is a low power, highly sensitive, OOK/FSK and GFSK receiver. As a member of the EZRadioPRO® family, it is designed for applications requiring FCC or ETSI conformance for unlicensed use between 240 and 960 MHz. The Si4330 is an industry-leading receiver IC, offering a sensitivity of -117 dBm and a diversity of embedded antenna  algorithms. When used with Silicon Labs' other transmitter and transceiver products, designs with ranges of more than 2000 m. The Si4330 provides a variety of built-in features aimed at reducing the overall system BOM such as a wake-up timer, a low-battery detector, a 64 byte receive FIFO, a power-on reset circuit and general-purpose digital I/Os. The wireless IC incorporates a high-performance ADC and digital modem, which perform demodulation, filtering and packet handling in the digital domain, making the IC ideal for configuration to multiple applications. These features simplify system design tasks and allow the use of cost-effective microcontrollers. A 30 MHz crystal and supply bypass capacitors are the only necessary external components, making the Si4330 ideal for high-volume production in applications where small size and low cost are important.

The Silicon Labs Si443x ISM band transceiver ICs are members of the EZRadioPRO® product family. While retaining all the attractive features of the earlier products such as high integration, low cost, flexibility, low BOM and easy design-in, these transceivers target more sophisticated applications and offer several enhanced parameters and features including continuous frequency coverage from 240 - 960 MHz and output power up to +20 dBm. The ISM band transceiver ICs include built-in features such as wake-up timer, low battery detector, transmit and receive data FIFOs, power-on reset circuit and general-purpose digital I/Os. The ICs incorporate a high-performance ADC and digital modem, which perform demodulation, filtering and packet handling in the digital domain, making the ICs ideal for configuration to mutiple applications. These features simplify the system design and allow the use of cost-effective microcontrollers. The Si4432 has configurable output power from +11 to +20 dBm and is ideal for frequency hopping systems where maximum range is desired. The Si4430/31 ICs have configurable output power from -8 to +13 dBm. The Si4431 and Si4432 comply with FCC and ETSI requirements when used in any of the standard ISM Bands. A 30 MHz crystal and supply bypass capacitors are the only necessary external components, making the devices ideal for high-volume production in applications where size and cost are important.

Si446x

Silicon Laboratories' Si446x devices are high-performance, low-current transceivers covering the sub-GHz frequency bands from 119 to 1050 MHz. The radios are part of the EZRadioPRO® family, which includes a complete line of transmitters, receivers, and transceivers covering a wide range of applications. All parts offer outstanding sensitivity of -126 dBm while achieving extremely low active and standby current consumption. The Si4464 offers continuous frequency coverage across the entire sub-GHz band from 119-960 MHz with extremely fine frequency resolution. The Si4463 includes optimal phase noise, blocking, and selectivity performance for narrow band and licensed band applications, such as FCC Part90 and 169 MHz wireless Mbus. The 60 dB adjacent channel selectivity with 12.5 kHz channel spacing ensures robust receive operation in harsh RF conditions, which is particularly important for narrowband operation. The Si4464/63 offers exceptional output power of up to +20 dBm with outstanding TX efficiency. The high output power and sensitivity results in an industry-leading link budget of 146 dB allowing extended ranges and highly robust communication links. The Si4460 active mode TX current consumption of 18 mA at +11 dBm and RX current of 10 mA coupled with extremely low standby current and fast wake times ensure extended battery life in the most demanding applications. The Si4464/63 can achieve up to +27 dBm output power with built-in ramping control of a low-cost external FET. The devices are compliant with all worldwide regulatory standards: FCC, ETSI, and ARIB. All devices are designed to be compliant with 802.15.4g and WMbus smart metering standards.
