Silicon Labs' High-Performance Low-Power Precision32™ ARM® Cortex™-M3 MCU family is engineered to make your job easier. These High-Performance, Low-Power Precision32™ Microcontrollers use a patented dual-crossbar architecture that allows designers to choose peripherals and pinout placement without worrying about pre-set limitations and pin conflicts — simplifying PCB routing, minimizing PCB layers and ultimately reducing design time and system cost. Based on the ARM® Cortex™-M3 core, the new High-Performance, Low-Power Precision32™ Microcontrollers include USB and non-USB devices with 32-256 kB Flash, 8-32 kB RAM and 40-92 pin packages.

Silicon Labs SiM3L1xx Mixed Signal Ultra Low-Power 32-bit microcontroller (MCU) product line is the latest addition to the Precision32™ family of ARM® Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers. These MCUs are the lowest power 32-bit devices on the market and are well suited for battery-operated and power-sensitive applications. The SiM3L1xx MCUs feature significant peripheral and architectural innovations including an integrated dc-dc converter that helps save power in active mode as well as a redesigned LCD controller that can reduce the power consumed by the LCD display. Autonomous peripherals off-load the CPU and further decrease processing time and power. Full RAM and state retention enables instantaneous code execution after waking up from sleep. Flash memory sizes range from 32 to 256 kB, and the MCUs come in packages as small as 5.5 mm x 5.5 mm.

Silicon Labs SiM3x1xx Development Kits provide support for Silicon Labs’ free Eclipse-based integrated development environment (IDE) which includes a compiler, debugger and an online dashboard for application-critical information such as a software library with example code, data sheets, schematics, PCB footprints, app notes, active version tracking and automatic updates. A centerpiece of the IDE is a GUI-based AppBuilder software, quickly and graphically select their peripheral mix and properties, set up clocking modes, customize pinouts and generate source code – all without having to write a line of code or read a data sheet. Each development kit comes with an MCU card, USB Debug Adapter, and all necessary cables and power supplies needed to evaluate hardware and develop code. The enhanced development kits additionally contain a UDP Motherboard and IO card to enhance the user experience.


Precision32™ SiM3C1xx Development Kit

Customers designing with the SiM3C1xx 32-bit ARM microcontrollers should start with the SiM3C1xx-B-DK kit or the enhanced version, SiM3C1xx-B-EDK. This kit comes with everything needed to evaluate hardware and develop code. Each development kit includes a SiM3C1xx MCU card, USB debug adapter, USB cable (mini), wall mounted universal power supply, UDP Development Kit Quick Start Guide, and Precision32 Development Suite. The enhanced version also comes with a Unified Development Platform motherboard, and SiM3C1xx UDP I/O expander card.

Customers designing with the SiM3L1xx 32-bit ARM microcontrollers should start with the SiM3L1xx-B-DK kit or the LCD version, SiM3L1xxLCD-B-DK. This kit comes with everything needed to evaluate hardware and develop code. Each development includes a SiM3L1xx MCU card, 32-bit USB debug adapter, USB cable, USB cable (mini), wall mounted universal power supply, UDP Development Kit Quick Start Guide, and Precision32 Development Suite. The LCD version also comes with a LCD.

Customers designing with the SiM3U1xx 32-bit USB MCUs should start with the SiM3U1xx-B-DK kit or the enhanced version, SiM3U1xx-B-EDK. SiM3L1xx Badger Board Development Kit

The Badger Board is controlled by Silicon Labs’ SiM3L1xx, an ultra low-power Cortex-M3 microcontroller. The entire board is powered solely by a small supercapacitor and demonstrates best-in-class low-power operation. The Badger Board can remain running with the LCD enabled for days from as little as a 90-second charge and, under typical use, can last up to a week from a three to five minute charge.
