KEMET's surface mount, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) multilayer ceramic capacitors address reliability concerns of commercial grade products in higher reliability applications. The COTS MLCCs from KEMET undergo rigorous tests and inspections that exceed the industry standard for commercial products. These components also meet the defense and aerospace industries' demand for products with rated voltages, capacitance values, and case sizes currently excluded from active Military Performance Specifications. Three established testing protocols are available that are designed to provide accelerated conditioning and improve failure rate. KEMET COTS capacitors are available in both C0G and X7R dielectrics with an operating temperature range of -55ºC to +125ºC.
