Freescale Semiconductor i.MX28 ARM9™ applications processors integrate display, power management, networking, and connectivity features unmatched among ARM9-based devices, reducing system cost and complexity for cost-sensitive applications. Freescale Semiconductor i.MX28 applications processors feature optimized performance and ultra-low power consumption, making them a perfect fit for battery-operated or fanless portable equipment. The i.MX28 family also provides support for high-color displays by integrating a WVGA LCD controller with touchscreen support. These Freescale devices offer a 454MHz ARM926EJ-S core with 32KB Cache and a PMU with high efficiency on-chip DC/DC converter, supporting Li-Ion batteries. i.MX28 applications processors offer 128KB on-chip RAM and provide memory encryption to protect against IP cloning.

Freescale i.MX28 Evaluation Kit

The Freescale i.MX28 Evaluation Kit supports all the features of the i.MX28 family in a small, single-board design. An optional 4.3" WVGA LCD add-on module is also available to help designers in developing a wide range of consumer, industrial, and automotive applications. The i.MX28 Evaluation Kit comes with Linux® and Windows® Embedded CE 6.0 BSPs, as well as audio and video codecs. This complete software package reduces development complexity and improves time to market.
