Freescale i.MX53 Applications Processors represent the next generation of advanced multimedia and power-efficient implementation of the ARM Cortex™-A8 core with core processing speeds up to 1.2GHz. These Freescale applications processors are optimized for both performance and power to meet the demands of high-end, advanced applications. Ideal for a broad range of applications in the consumer, automotive, medical, and industrial markets, the i.MX53 family includes an integrated display controller, full HD capability, enhanced graphics, and connectivity features.

The i.MX536 and i.MX534 enable customers to re-create today's consumer user experiences in the car. The i.MX534 combines the high-performance ARM CPU with an OpenGL® ES 2.0-compatible graphics engine, plus an independent OpenVG™ 1.1 graphics engine, allowing the ultimate in flexibility for applications such as graphical instrument clusters which require simultaneous rendering for both 3-D and 2-D images for driver information. The i.MX536 adds a multiformat video engine capable of decoding industry standard video formats up to full 1080p resolution and video encoding up to 720p resolution.

The i.MX535 processor is optimized for both performance and power to meet the demands of high-end, advanced applications requiring mobility and a long battery life. 1080p HD video decode and HD video encode, two dedicated graphics cores, multiple display and connectivity options, and a high level of integration make these processors ideal for smart mobile devices.

The i.MX537 is optimized for both performance and power to meet the demands of high-end, advanced applications. An integrated display controller, 1080p HD video decode and 720p video encode, enhanced graphics and connectivity features make the i.MX537 ideal for a wide range of applications that require rich user interfaces with high color displays, such as patient monitors and human-machine interfaces (HMI).
