Cirrus Logic CS53L30 Ultra Low Power 4-Channel Microphone A/D Converters are ultra low power, high performance, quad-channel A/D Converters designed to enhance voice processing features such as noise suppression, acoustic echo cancellation, and multi-channel beamforming, and offer improved performance in voice capture processing, such as voice control and recognition. A flexible input front end supports up to four line/analog mic or four digital mic (DMIC) channels with two digital mic serial clock outputs. Up to four CS53L30 ICs can be configured to output up to 16 channels of data over a single TDM line for seamless system integration. With less than 2.5mW of power consumption per channel, the CS53L30 is a targeted fit for smartphones, tablets, and other consumer electronics applications. It is designed for use in multiple-mic applications while consuming minimal board space and power.

    • Native (no PLL required) support for 6/12MHz, 6.144/12.288MHz, 5.6448/11.2896MHz, or 19.2MHz master clock rates and 8 to 48kHz audio sample rates
    • Master or Slave Mode; clock dividers can be used to generate common audio clocks from single-master clock input
    • Low power consumption
      • Less than 4.5mW stereo (16kHz) analog mic record
      • Less than 2.5mW mono (8kHz) analog mic record
    • Selectable mic bias and digital interface logic voltages
    • High-speed (400kHz) I²C control port
    • Available in 30-ball WLCSP and 32-pin QFN

CDB53L30 Evaluation Board
CDB53L30 Evaluation Board

The CDB53L30 board is a dedicated platform for testing and evaluating the CS53L30. To allow comprehensive testing of CS53L30 features and performance, extensive software-configurable options are available on the CDB53L30. Software options, such as register settings for the CS53L30, are configured with the FlexGUI software, which communicates with the CDB53L30 via USB from a Windows-compatible computer. In addition, digital I/O headers on the CDB53L30 allow external control signals (from a host processor, for example) to configure and interface with the CS53L30 directly without the use of FlexGUI. The CDB53L30 also serves as the component and layout reference for the CS53L30.
