Amphenol® Amphe®-GT Reverse Bayonet Connectors for Power Applications

Amphenol introduces the new Composite GT series of connectors, with full worldwide approval from a major server manufacturer, for use as the environmental server power connector. Featuring a high-performance composite plug shell, coupling nut, receptacle, and hardware, this GT meets all of the specifications for high power process control and server applications.

Additional features include the RADSOK High Amperage Socket Contact Technology, enabling increased current ratings to 120A on individual contacts.

The RADSOK (RADial SOcKet) High Amperage, Low Insertion Force Socket Contact provides value to your purchasing, engineering, quality and manufacturing objectives. RADSOK technology is based upon a stamped and formed flat grid, uniquely twisted into a hyperbolic geometry to provide robust, high-density contact to the mating pin contact. Most pin and socket technologies rely upon spring (beam element) properties of the contact elements, which tend to weaken over time. Unlike most other pin and socket solutions, RADSOK also utilizes the tensile strength properties of the flat, high conductivity alloy grid. This provides the high normal forces required for conductivity while also providing large conductive surface area. Correspondingly low voltage drop and low temperature rise are also achieved while maintaining low insertion forces.

Compression (setscrew) wire termination to the 4/6AWG or 8/10AWG conductors allows easy field replacement of pin or socket contacts, or complete plug and receptacle assemblies, without requiring specialized tooling.

Amphenol® RADSOK® PowerBus Amphe-PD™ Connectors

High-powered applications are constantly in need of a solution that is higher in power, smaller in size, and low in cost. The Amphe-PD™ uses Amphenol RADSOK technology to become the ideal solution. The low insertion force, locking, two-pole connector is UL listed at 69A and CSA listed at 55A. It is also TUV Finger Proof with a V0 fire rating. By combining parallel circuits into one circuit, heat generation is reduced and space is saved. Most importantly, reliability is increased.

Amphenol® RADSOK® Amphe-Power® Series Connectors

The Amphe-Power® Series consists of three of the time-tested and reliable families of Amphenol Industrial Connectors, all of which are MIL-5015 styles, medium to heavy duty cylindricals. These series, enhanced with Amphenol RADSOK sockets, can now handle up to 50% higher amperages. Current Amphe-Power® product lines support from 50A to 1000A continuous duty.

Amphe-Power® GT:

Amphenol® RADSOK® Board Level Connectors

The Amphenol RADSOK Advantage brings more power to the board with three new high amperage products: PowerBlok™, RADSERT™, and PGY™. Amphenol's RADSOK solution offers many options for high current single-point connections to printed circuit boards. The compact footprint design can supply up to 120 Amp to the board which preserves surface area and provides more flexibility in board design. Amphenol RADSOK PCB products are designed to be applied manually press-fit or by a reflow solder process, which eliminates the need for additional wires and/or special crimp tools.

PowerBlok™

RADSOK PowerBlok provides a high current single-point connection to the PCB with the proven reliability of compliant pin signals. The PowerBlok is designed to bring up to 70 Amps to the board, utilizing our custom 3.0mm RADSOK® design. The compliant pins are press-fit into the board to secure a solid connection and even signal flow.

RADSERT™

Choose the Amphenol® RADSERT™ design when you need the most power in a single-point connection to the PCB. The RADSERT allows the board designer to bring power to the board from busbars suspended above the board and all of the board components. Pins from the busbar plug into the RADSOK's which are installed by press fitting the RADSOK into the RADSERT.

The RADSERT is press-fit into plated-through holes in the PCB. It provides the smallest footprint and is available in 2.4mm and 3.6mm for board thicknesses of .250" +/- .025". Other sizes may be custom designed to meet your specific application requirements.

PGY™

The RADSOK® PGY™ is an orthogonal card edge connector series, available in 3.6mm and 5.7mm contact sizes. The 5.7mm RADSOK PGY is Amphenol's highest current board level product rated to 120 amperes. The RADSOK® PGY connects to the board through a solder reflow process. The busbar pin will mate horizontally with the RADSOK® slightly above the board.

Amphenol® RADSOK® SurLok™ Compression Lugs

Amphenol Industrial now features the SurLok™ Compression Lug. This is a field crimpable contact assembly featuring Amphenol RADSOK technology. This lug is similar to the standard Panduit, Burndy and Thomas and Betts compression lugs, except it has many more features and benefits.

Amphenol Industrial Tru-Loc® Connectors

Amphenol Industrial Tru-Loc® now offers a connector family with 1.5 mm socket contacts (contacts sold separately) featuring Amphenol's RADSOK® technology. Tru-Loc®'s rugged, compact, thermoplastic construction makes it ideal for use in harsh environments where high vibration and caustic fluids are present. Offered in a 2-way, 4-way or 6-way plug and receptacle in-line system, Tru-Loc is rated to 13 Amps continuous (with 16 gauge cable). It is designed to perform in demanding environments such as under valve covers on diesel engines to mate to fuel injectors. It can withstand vibrations up to 32 Grms, and the interfacial seal is molded out of a fluroelastomer material to withstand exposure to many chemicals.
