 3M 2mm Pitch Ribbons and Sockets

3M's 2mm 158 Series Ribbon Cable Sockets and 159 Series Shrouded Boardmount Headers provide a robust and compact cable-to-board connection solution. The 158 Series Ribbon Cable Sockets provide a reliable ribbon cable to board interface in a variety of applications, and terminate to 1 mm pitch ribbon cable. The 159 Series Shrouded Boardmount Headers mate to the 158 Series Ribbon Cable Sockets. 3M offers each series in multiple configurations. Configurations include an adhesive-backed cover for robust termination, "sword pack" to deliver higher speed termination operations, and friction-latch versions for increased protection against accidental disconnect.

158 Series

3M's 158 Series Ribbon Cable Sockets terminate to 1 mm pitch ribbon cable. Available configurations include:

  • 30 μ" Au plating version with adhesive-backed cover for robust termination, and discrete wire capability
  • 30 μ" and 15μ" Au version with pre-assembled cover and packaged on 3M's "sword pack" to help enable higher speed termination operations
  • Friction-latch configurations for increased protection against accidental disconnect
  • Bulk packaged 15 μ" Au versions for high volume, manual termination operations

159 Series

3M designed the 159 Series Shrouded Boardmount Headers to maximize design flexibility while minimizing the PCB footprint. The headers mate to the 158 Series Ribbon Cable Sockets , and are available in the following configurations:

  • 30 and 15 μ" Au versions
  • Vertical mount, thru-hole and SMT
  • Right angle mount, thru-hole
  • Extended shroud version available to mate to 3M™ Molded Cable Assemblies
